DESCRIPTION
Come listen to stories and lessons from Jeremy Johnson, a documentary photojournalist living and working in Port Townsend. Attendees will learn about the history of documentary photojournalism, how photographers find their stories, what it takes to follow a story for a longer period of time, and why this work is important. To illustrate the ideas, Jeremy will show his own work developed over the past four years while documenting the Port Townsend Marine Trades and their history, culture, craft, and community.
One hour lecture followed by a 30-minute Q&A session. Registration is recommended, but no one will be turned away at the door.
ABOUT JEREMY
Jeremy Johnson is a documentary photojournalist focused on the marine trades. His style relies heavily on quality of light and the elements of design to create bold compositions. Using his background and style, Jeremy uses this craft to elevate stories and bring awareness to the people and issues he covers.
