DESCRIPTION
Create a multi-layered masterpiece using beeswax! Join Dana Weir on a journey through encaustic art, a captivating process of painting with hot beeswax and resin. Using a torch or heat tool, you'll layer and fuse the wax to craft your own unique work of art. During this one-day workshop you will be introduced to the history of encaustic art, practice collage and painting techniques, and create a stunning one-of-a-kind masterpiece. Don't miss out on this exciting encaustic opportunity!

 SUPPLY INFORMATION

• All materials will be provided, including encaustic medium, wood panels, and a plethora of collage materials, but students are welcome to bring their own materials as well.

ABOUT DANA
Dana Weir’s work has been exhibited in many invitational and juried shows in Oregon and Washington, most recently at Northwind Art’s Jeanette Best Gallery in Port Townsend. Dana enjoys living in Port Townsend and exploring many urban and wild environments around the Puget Sound region. In addition to being a studio artist, Dana works as an art educator for local schools and organizations, including Swan School, the Benji Project, the Clemente Course, and Northwind Art.
