DESCRIPTION
Explore the wild magic of botanical color using bundle-dyeing processes to create color and texture on fiber in a relaxed and playful atmosphere. Dyeing with plants is an ancient practice, a way to deeply connect with the ecosystems we inhabit. Teaching artist Katey Rissi introduces you to the basics of natural dyeing, including preparing suitable materials to dye with and on and how to bundle-dye using seasonal, local plants. You’ll create a bundle-dyed bandana imprinted with the shape and colors of the plants you choose to work with.
