DESCRIPTION
Sally Jean Fox, PhD, author of Meeting the Muse After Midlife, offers tools to build
your relationship with the Muse, or inner creative spirit, which will enhance your
work—and your life. The workshop’s intuitive exercises and transformative art
practices will help you understand and strengthen your unique spark. Then, you’ll
use these insights to shape a new story—about the creative life you want to live.
The workshop is for adults of all ages, especially those seeking a more soul-filled
approach to their creative process. It’s designed for all who want to expand
expressiveness, release limiting beliefs about their creative powers, rekindle a spark
or passion lost during school or professional work, and explore new directions. Class
is a “judgment-free zone” in which to experiment, play, make mistakes, and share
freely. In class exercises will include sounding, improv, movement, journaling, reflection and sharing, direction setting and problem-solving, and artistic expression.
The workshop’s two sections will cover:
1) Ways to access the Muse and feed your inner spark through reflection, conversation, and embodied creative processes—including painting, movement, storytelling, and meditation.
2) A strategy session to identify obstacles and opportunities and create a roadmap for moving ahead.
Participants will leave with an Embracing the Muse workbook of ideas, inspiration,
strategies, and practices.
